Billing & payments

Pay your bill without signing in.

Express Pay takes a policy number and a payment — no account, no password. For payment history, AutoPay setup and documents, sign in to MyTrident instead.

Ways to pay

Pick the one that means you never think about it again.

AutoPay (EFT)

A bank draft on each due date. Set it up once from MyTrident and stop tracking due dates altogether.

Card payment

One-time or recurring, by debit or credit card, through Express Pay or your MyTrident account.

Cheque by post

Payable to Trident Insurance Company, with your policy number in the memo line, to the payment address on your invoice.

Instalment plans

Spread the term premium, for a small fee.

Every plan carries the same coverage. The difference is how many instalments and how much each one carries in fees.

Plan Down payment Remaining instalments Instalment fee
Paid in full 100% — No fee
Two-pay 50% 1 $5
Four-pay 25% 3 $5 per instalment
Monthly (AutoPay/EFT) Varies by term Up to 11 $3 per instalment
If a payment is late

Nothing happens on day one. Something does eventually.

  1. Grace period

Coverage continues for a short grace period after the due date shown on your invoice. Pay within it and nothing else changes.

  2. Cancellation notice

Past the grace period, we mail a cancellation notice giving you a set number of days to pay before coverage actually ends — the notice is not the cancellation itself.

  3. Reinstatement

A lapsed policy can often be reinstated by paying the amount due, usually with no gap in coverage if you act before the notice period runs out. Ask your agent or MyTrident how long that window is for your policy.

Workers’ compensation

Pay-as-you-go: premium from what you actually paid your people.

Instead of one estimate made twelve months in advance, premium is calculated from actual payroll each pay period.

No large deposit

A pay-as-you-go policy starts with a small initial payment rather than an estimated annual premium up front.

No audit surprise

Because the numbers were never a guess, there is no year-end true-up bill built on a payroll estimate that turned out wrong.

Reported each period

Payroll is reported and premium collected on your normal payroll cadence, through your agent or your MyTrident account.

Questions

Billing questions

Our service team is on the phone Monday to Friday, 7am–8pm ET.

Can I change my due date?
In most cases, yes — sign in to MyTrident or ask your agent. A change usually takes effect on your next billing cycle, not immediately.
What happens to my payment plan if I make a mid-term change?
Adding or removing coverage recalculates the remaining instalments. Any difference is reflected on your next invoice, not billed or refunded all at once.
Do I need an account to use Express Pay?
No. Your policy number and billing ZIP code are enough for a one-time payment. An account is only needed to set up AutoPay or see payment history.
Where does the money for pay-as-you-go workers’ comp come from?
It is reported and paid from your actual payroll each period, through your agent or a payroll integration, rather than drawn from a separate deposit.
My policy cancelled for non-payment. Can I get it back?
Often yes, within a limited reinstatement window after the cancellation date. Contact us or ask your agent how long that window is for your policy.
